Compared to amateur telescopes, it is literally a wider look with the 200 [mm], F 2.8 lens at a group of objects in the Bernard’s Loop. However the loop itself is not visible on picture (caught small piece in the lower left corner – red cloud), and the main subject of the photo are objects, like the well known M42 nebula in Orion. Next to left NGC 1977 – The Running Man with his small group of stars.

Cropped

A little further to the left and a little down, there is young bright star Ori 48, which perfectly illuminates the hydrogen cloud, visualizing it as the self halo star. Personally, I really like the visible effect that was naturally created. In the future, I will certainly give this place more attention with a different set of equipment to take better pictures with this area.

Just below the Ori 48 star, is the well known Horse Head B33 nebula, formed from Orion’s molecular clouds on the background with glow of a hydrogen cloud. Just below the Horse Head, a bright four stars – from left: IC 432, Alinitak, NGC 2023, IC 435, form a characteristic arc to enclose the NGC 2024 – Flame emission nebula.

Technically about the photo

The noise at ISO 400 came out like I would never expect, from this class of camera. Maybe it is characteristic for modified (removing the filter) 6D camera of my friend.

To drawn me down, it’s worth paying attention to the shape of the stars, which literally look like coma in Newtons. I wonder how it is possible, with the original Canon’s 200 [mm] lens? It’s interesting that this effect never happened on unmodified 6D.

I was fighting with myself whether to show this (photo) at all. I did my best to reduce the hardware flaws and when I look on the photo over phone, it looks good 😉
