Every day, a very strong west wind blew.
On the rusty and slightly wobbly railing of the terrace of the apartment where I was staying, I set my phone on a small tripod. I’ve configured the settings for the timelapse and went out, to get something to drink. When I came back the phone was on the floor. I thought to myself “the screen will probably be cracked”, but it wasn’t. I’ve took the phone back in the same place and set the timelapse session again. This time I didn’t move my ass from place and kept my eye to ensure, that the wind didn’t kick off my phone from the railing again. It worked and the sunset session was recorded.
I repeated actions several times, probably 5 or 7 times. Twice more the phone landed on the tarrace floor, of course every time I moved my ass from the seat – was there some fate?
Among the collected sessions, only three was to be good enough, which I was able to combine into one with this video.
The timelapse was taken in September 2023 on the eastern part of the Greek island of Crete, near the town of Sitia.
