Altair (Alpha Aquilae) is one of the closest and brightest stars in the night sky, and the most luminous point in the constellation Aquila (The Eagle). It ranks as the twelfth brightest star visible from Earth, situated just 16.7 light-years away from our Sun. Alongside Vega and Deneb, Altair forms the famous Summer Triangle asterism. It is an A-type star noted for its incredibly fast rotation, which causes it to have a noticeable oblate (flattened) shape. In this post, you can view my Altair deep sky image, complete with detailed session parameters.
